• A well-deserved nod: Cotswold Canals Trust up for Charity of the Year

Congratulations are in order down in Gloucestershire! The Cotswold Canals Trust has announced that it has been shortlisted for Charity of the Year at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards 2026.

With almost 300 entries received across this year’s awards, the Trust is proud to be counted among the top 14 charities in the county — a lovely recognition of the volunteers, members and supporters who work tirelessly to restore, protect and celebrate the Cotswold Canals.

The next stage sees an independent panel of judges choosing the finalists, who will be announced in October, before the winners are revealed at an awards ceremony in November. The Trust has warmly thanked SoGlos for shining a light on charities across Gloucestershire, and congratulated all the other organisations shortlisted.

It is a proud moment for everyone who has put their heart into the Cotswold Canals — here is hoping they go all the way. You can read the Trust’s announcement on the Cotswold Canals Trust Facebook page.
