What a day it was at Bowbridge. The Cotswold Canals Trust has been sharing its heartfelt thanks after Saturday’s Canal Collaboration Event with The Bowbridge Arms, and it sounds as though everyone who came along had a wonderful time by the water.
The Trust reports a day packed with live music, delicious food, refreshing drinks, scenic boat trips and plenty of family fun — all while raising awareness and support for the restoration. A shuttle boat ran between Wallbridge and Bowbridge, volunteers chatted with visitors about the restoration work and ran children’s games, and the canalside setting did the rest.
A special thank-you goes to The Bowbridge Arms for their warm hospitality and generous fundraising throughout the day, and to the musicians who gave their time so freely: UKE Stroud, Champayne Bootleggers, Spiracy, The Jawbox and Crackerstone Jacks, along with the volunteer sound engineer who kept everyone sounding their best.
Above all, the Trust thanks its brilliant volunteers, whose enthusiasm made the day such a success. They hope it will be the first of many events like it. You can read their full thank-you on the Cotswold Canals Trust Facebook page.
