Sometimes the best news is simply seeing a plan turn into something you can stand beside. The Wilts & Berks Canal Trust was pleased to share an update from Swindon Borough Council showing that the future canal at Wichelstowe is really starting to take shape.

The Wichelstowe extension is one of the more visible signs of progress on the Wilts & Berks, and it’s good to see the local council and the Trust working in the same direction. The finer details of this latest phase are still to be confirmed (TBC).

Credit where it’s due — to Swindon Borough Council for the update, and to the Trust for keeping supporters in the loop. It all adds to the quiet momentum behind bringing this historic waterway back to life.
