According to the campaign’s post, the FBW boats are off, leaving the National Waterways Museum at Ellesmere Port. There’s something rather fitting about a campaign for the future of our waterways setting out from a place that keeps their history: past and present slipping their moorings together.
Why it matters
Fund Britain’s Waterways is a coalition of organisations speaking up for the hundreds of thousands of people who use and love Britain’s canals and rivers. Getting boats out on the water, seen and photographed, is how the campaign keeps the case for proper, sustained funding in front of the public and government alike.
