There’s something heartening about a big employer giving its people a day by the canal. On Wednesday 15 July, fifteen volunteers from BT joined the Wilts & Berks Canal Trust for a corporate volunteering day in Swindon.
Days like these make a real difference to a volunteer-led trust — extra hands mean more of the practical work that keeps a restoration moving forward, and a welcome boost for the regular team. The exact tasks the BT group took on that day are still to be confirmed (TBC).
Our thanks to everyone who came along and pitched in. It’s a fine reminder that restoring a canal is a community effort, and that support can come from all sorts of places.
