Every restoration relies on people who quietly keep the whole movement moving — and one of them is closer to the Chesterfield Canal than you might think.
The Chesterfield Canal Trust has shared the news that its Development Manager, George Rogers, is now Chair of the Inland Waterways Association’s new Restoration Delivery Group — a national role helping to coordinate and champion canal restoration projects right across the country.
George is very well known in the canal restoration world, and his appointment is a lovely reflection of the expertise built up here on the Chesterfield Canal. The story features in the Autumn edition of the Inland Waterways Association’s magazine, which the Trust has made available to read in full.
Congratulations to George — it is always heartening to see local know-how making a difference on the national stage. You can read the Trust’s post here.
