Campaign support comes in all shapes and sizes, and few are as delightfully eccentric as this one.
A display that always brings a smile
Sharon Wells shared this cheering scene from Naomi’s Landing at Rugeley: a lineup of characterful, costumed mannequins gathered around a Fund Britain’s Waterways banner. As she put it, it’s support for the campaign that always brings a smile — and the outfits change with the seasons, so there’s always something new to spot. It’s a wonderfully creative, community way of flying the flag for our rivers and canals, and proof that you don’t need a boat to show you care about the waterways.
The post came via the Fund Britain’s Waterways Facebook group.
Every bit of support counts
Fund Britain’s Waterways is a coalition speaking up for the hundreds of thousands of people who use and love Britain’s canals and rivers. Displays like this one at Naomi’s Landing keep the campaign visible in the places people pass every day, and remind the wider public that our waterways need sustainable, long-term government funding if they’re to stay open and thriving for the next generation.
If it made you smile too, please sign the petition and pass it on with #FundBritainsWaterways.
