Something colourful has been taking shape on the Cotswold Canals. The Cotswold Canals Trust has announced the winners of its Brimscombe Charity Book & Music Shop Mural Project, run in partnership with Cotswold Canals Connected.
After a public vote, two artists were chosen to transform the bookshop’s two external walls: Mint & Mabel, with a warm, nature-inspired design celebrating the wildlife and landscape of the canal corridor, and Nat Morley, whose striking mural showcases the biodiversity of the waterways with a view both above and below the water’s surface.
The community was invited to watch the artists at work over the weekend of Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July, with Saturday 11th a special open day at the charity bookshop from 10am to 4pm. The murals form part of a wider canalside arts programme celebrating the heritage, wildlife and community spirit of the Cotswold Canals.
A lovely way to brighten the towpath. Read the announcement from the Cotswold Canals Trust here: Community Invited to Watch Winning Canal Murals Painted Live.
