• A heritage day out: New Hall Mill Open Day, 13 September

If you love a bit of living history, put Sunday 13 September 2026 in the diary. New Hall Mill throws open its doors for the day, from 10am to 4pm.

A working watermill on Wylde Green Road in Walmley, the open day is a charming chance to see traditional milling in action, browse stalls and enjoy a relaxed day out with the family in a lovely corner of the West Midlands.

It’s one for anyone who enjoys the region’s waterside heritage. You’ll find the full listing on the Lichfield & Hatherton Canals Restoration Trust’s events page: lhcrt.org.uk/event/new-hall-mill-open-day
